Police seek possibly armed man in Shippensburg, lock down schools - pennlive.com

State police have put schools on lockdown in Shippensburg while they search for a possibly armed man, Public Information Officer Megan Frazer said Friday.

Anyone who sees 32-year-old William Lewis should not engage him and call 911.

Frazer said troopers are searching around Roxbury Treatment Center and residents in the area should stay in their homes. Schools in the area, including Shippensburg University, have been locked down “for safety reasons.”

Lewis is described as being 5 foot 7 inches tall, last seen wearing a black shirt. He has face tattoos, which can be seen in the photo below.

Police believe he is on foot. He was not in custody as of 4 p.m.

Frazer shared that state police are working with Shippensburg schools to assist/escort students and buses during dismissal. She said parents should wait for updates on their respective schools.
